WMenu
A service for demanding venues

A custom website and menu, on your own domain

The standard WMenu venue page has one layout and two brand colours to pick. A starred restaurant, a hotel dining room or a concept bar wants more: its own typefaces, photos shown full-screen and menu.yourvenue.com instead of a link on our domain. We design it for one venue, build it on WMenu and connect it to your domain. You keep editing the menu yourself, in the same panel as today.

Price and timeline after a brief. A quote we confirm does not grow along the way.

A layout designed for this one venue

The order of sections, the category grid, how photos are shown, a home page with hours and a map. Not a template in another colour but a design from a blank page, matched to what the venue sells: an 8-course tasting is shown differently from 40 pizzas.

Typography and colour beyond the standard

The standard plan gives two brand colours and one typeface. In a bespoke design we pick typefaces to match the logo and printed materials, build a full palette with backgrounds and button states, and check contrast on a phone in sunlight and in a dark dining room.

Photos and copy in your guests' languages

A photography direction: what to shoot, in what light, in what proportions, or work on the photos the venue already has. We write the page copy in your guests' languages rather than machine-translating it, because a wine description does not read like a dish description.

Your own domain, certificate and QR codes

The site runs on your domain or subdomain, for example menu.yourvenue.com: you add one CNAME record we give you, we configure the rest along with the SSL certificate. We link it from your Google Business Profile and generate table QR codes that already point at the new address. You can also stay on a WMenu address.

How the project runs

01

Brief and a look at your materials

We talk about the concept and look at the current site, logo, photos and printed menu. After this step you get a quote and a timeline that do not change during the work.

02

Design of the home page and the menu

We show a design of two screens, home and menu, on a phone and on a desktop. One round of corrections is included; further rounds are quoted separately.

03

Build, menu entry, domain

We build the site on WMenu, enter the menu with photos and descriptions, connect the domain and the certificate. A handover call at the end: we show where you change prices and items.

Who it is for, and who would be wasting money

A bespoke design makes sense when the look of the site sells: a restaurant with a tasting menu, a hotel restaurant that has to match the hotel's site, a concept bar guests photograph. If the venue mainly needs a working menu by tomorrow, start with the standard venue page: sign-up takes minutes, the first month is free, and a bespoke design can be added later on the same account.

It is wasted money in two cases. A venue that changes concept every season and wants a new look twice a year pays for each design separately, while standard themes change for free. A venue that has no photos and plans none gets a nice layout with empty tiles, because in hospitality the photo sells the dish, not the grid.

What changes in running the site after launch

Nothing. Prices, items, seasonal sections and hiding dishes that ran out are done in the same panel as every venue on WMenu. The design concerns the look, not the mechanics: language versions, allergens, variants and extras work the same way. If you would rather not enter the menu yourself, we enter it for you from photos or a PDF as part of the launch.

The subscription plan is chosen separately and can be changed later. The design does not require PREMIUM: online ordering, bookings with a card guarantee and events are added when you need them and appear in the designed layout.

Your own domain, step by step

After the design you get a host name from us for a CNAME record. You add it in your registrar's panel (GoDaddy, Namecheap, OVH) on a subdomain such as menu.yourvenue.com. We issue and renew the SSL certificate on our side; the DNS record changes once. The venue's home page can stay where it is with the new address serving only the menu and bookings, or you move everything to us.

The domain stays yours. If you ever leave WMenu, you change one DNS record and the address points elsewhere.

The quote: what is in it and what is not

The price depends on the number of screens, languages and whether we work on existing photos, which is why it is not on this page but after a brief. The quote includes: the design of the home page and the menu, one round of corrections, the build, menu entry, the domain connection with a certificate, QR codes and a handover call. It does not include a photo shoot (we can arrange one under a separate quote), the WMenu subscription paid according to the pricing page, or a second round of corrections.

The site stays on WMenu. We do not export it to WordPress or to files: when the subscription ends, the site ends. For a venue that wants to own the site's code, this is the wrong choice and we say so before the contract.

Frequently asked questions

Can the site run on my domain?

Yes, on a domain or a subdomain such as menu.yourvenue.com. You add one CNAME record at your registrar, we configure the rest and the SSL certificate. The domain stays yours.

Do I still edit the menu myself after the project?

Yes, in the same WMenu panel: prices, items, photos, language versions, allergens. The design concerns the look, not the menu mechanics.

How many rounds of corrections are included?

One, after we show the design of the home page and the menu. Further rounds are quoted separately, and we say so before the work starts, not after.

Do I need the PREMIUM plan?

No. You pick the plan by feature: BASIC or STANDARD for the menu alone, PRO for bookings and events, PREMIUM for online ordering. The design works on each of them.

How does the quote work?

After one call about the concept, the number of screens and languages, and the photos, you get the scope, price and timeline by e-mail. A confirmed quote does not grow during the project.

I run several venues. Does one design cover them all?

The design can be done once for the brand and rolled out to every venue with its own menu and address. We charge the rollout per venue and the design per brand, so for a chain give the number of venues in the brief.

What happens to the site if I leave WMenu?

The site runs on WMenu and cannot be exported to WordPress or to files. When the subscription ends it stops working; the domain stays yours and you can point it elsewhere.
